Vagabond Productions returns with:
Miss Julie
By August Strindberg
Dates: 13 14 15 16 17 18 - 20 21 22 23 24 25 August 2012
After a successful run in 2011 with five stars reviews, Vagabond Productions returns to the Edinburgh Fringe with Miss Julie. ‘The issues Strindberg explores are still sadly relevant today. All round, a fabulous production and one of the best pieces of theatre I’ve seen at this year’s Fringe’ (‘BroadwayBaby.com)
Directed by BAFTA Award-winner Andrew Dallmeyer this international co-production is ‘an absolutely captivating production of one of Strindberg’s best-loved plays’ (BroadwayBaby.com). ‘Many actors at the Fringe are good, a handful are exceptional. The cast of ‘Miss Julie’ (Bart Vanlaere and Louise Seyffert) are undoubtedly exceptional, with two having won Best of the Fest awards in the past’ (ThreeWeeks).

Descend into the servants’ quarters of his Lordship’s mansion on Midsummer Night. While the servants are waltzing in the barn, their Mistress Julie steals her father’s valet away for a dance. ‘The play still poses important questions about contemporary relationships’ (ThreeWeeks).
The pretty picture of this Swedish traditional feast is smashed to pieces as trolls and witches seem to influence all relationships. Witness the fevered duel between Miss Julie and valet Jean, the clash between old nobility and new aristocracy of nerve and brain. The sexes battle and social classes jostle for dominance.
