Miss Julie
Vagabond Productions
★★★★★
Is there such a thing as true love or just the love of the game?
These and other questions are posed when sex, and class barriers
collide in August Strindberg's 1888 play. Following the affairs of a
head servant, his mistress, and his betrothed, the script challenges
the notion of the traditional Swedish feast; if unfamiliar with what
that means, the play still poses important questions about
contemporary relationships. Many actors at the Fringe are good, a
handful are exceptional. the cast of 'Miss Julie' are undoubtedly
exceptional, with two having won Best of the Fest awards in the
past. directed by Scottish BAFTA award-winner Andrew Dallmeyer,
there is more palpable emotion in this production than in half the
Fringe guide.
